Upcoming Special Event: Stitched Together by Grace
A Fiber Art Exhibit in Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of Winthrop Congregational Church UCC
October 24th, 2026
11 am to 2 pm
10 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine
For years, members of our church have created beautiful and useful fiber arts pieces in service to the mission of our church. We want to celebrate their contributions to our congregation, as well as the skill and creativity of fiber artists in our local community.
Their creativity is blessing to our church and we want to share that blessing with you.
The exhibit will feature a variety of fibers arts:
- historical quilts created for and housed in our congregation
- historical quilts belonging to members of our church and a few loaned from a local museum
- Fibers arts made by members of our church and sold at church fairs (including quilts, needlework, knitted, and crocheted pieces) or donated to the broader community
*refreshments will be available and donations to support a mission of the church will happily be accepted

Community Assistance
Food Pantry - This is an on-going collection at entrance to sanctuary. Bring your donation to worship and leave it in the wagon in the back of the sanctuary.
Soap Collection for Bridging the Gap- By some extra bars of soap and put them in the tupperware box outside of the sanctuary.
Family Violence Project - We take this collection in December, but they can always use support. They are in rather pressing need of basics for the residences they provide to families in crisis. In particular, they would like:
twin sheets
pillows
blankets
alarm clocks
laundry detergent
Tupperware
Hannaford gift cards
bath towels
kitchen dish towels
